Detroit Pistons Should Bring Back Larry Brown

Bring him back! I would rehire Larry Brown in a heartbeat if I was the new owner. Bill Davidson the previous owner is now deceased and with Joe Dumars likely going to be fired at season’s end the Detroit Pistons could start with a clean slate. He could serve as a great coach for a few years just to set us in the right direction with a replacement plan in effect for when he’s ready to call it quits.

Larry Brown will preach what this team needs which is defense, defense, and more defense. The inability to guard the pick and roll has come to haunt us. This Detroit Pistons team has talent but largely is left unmolded due to a various reasons. Larry Brown brings credibility and the players will definitely respect him.

Larry Brown is the only coach who has won a championship as a coach in the NCAA and NBA ranks. He is still a top three coach. Who can you say is truly better than him that is currently coaching. Greg Popovich and Doc Rivers are the only coaches who can a make a true case who is coaching at the moment.

Larry Brown is currently coaching college basketball at Southern Methodist University in Texas. Southern Methodist University was a perennial cellar dweller until Larry Brown took this team to the NIT with a twenty win season. Larry Brown can have the Detroit Pistons playing the right way he just needs a chance.
