Detroit Red Wings V Boston Bruins Game 2 Preview, Start Time, TV

The Detroit Red Wings face off against the Boston Bruins in attempt to take a commanding 2-0 lead in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals.  In game one the Red Wings proved themselves a worthy adversary to the President’s Cup winning Boston Bruins.

The Wings used their speed and puck movement to frustrate the Bruins causing Bruins forward Milan Lucic to spear Danny Dekeyser in the closing minutes. Lucic’s hit drew a $5,000 fine from the NHL, a penalty that most NHL pundits considered too lenient.

Despite the Bruins punishing physical play, the Red wings emerged from the game without injury and highly confident after takeing the Bruins best punch and coming away with the victory.

The Bruins will try to even the series at TD Gardens on Sunday in what promises to be a physical and fast paced game.

Players to Watch:

Red Wings: Pavel Datsyuk looked like his old self against the Bruins in game 1 scoring a spectacular game winner late in the third period. Look for Datsyuk continue to dominate with fresh legs after missing nearly a month at the end of the regular season. Jimmy Howard would have been the story if not for Datsyuk’s magic. Howard turned away 25 shots and looked impregnable en route to a game 1 shut out.

Boston Bruins: After the game, forward Milan Lucic said that a hit like the one he laid on Dekeyser “wont happen again”. Does that mean the Lucic will tone down his normally aggressive style? If he does that could bode well for the Wings who will likely use the same game plan that brought them success in game 1.
