2014 NFL Draft: With Sammy Watkins Off The Board Lions Should Consider Trading Back

The draft was going as planned until the Jacksonville Jaguars started going off script. Jacksonville drafted Blake Bortles as the first quarterback leaving Johnny Manziel in his seat in the green room.

Then it really got interesting for Lions fans.

The Buffalo Bill moved up into the 4th spot and selected Sammy Watkins, the player Lions fans have been coveting. The Oakland Raiders then wasted no time in selecting Khalil Mack.

With the Lions top choice off the board. The Detroit Lions would be best served  to trade back and pick up an extra pick.

If Johnny Manziel is still on the board at ten.  That could lead to some golden trade opportunities for Martin Mayhew and the Lions.
