The Nike Peach Jam kicked off Wednesday in Augusta Georgia and some of the NCAA biggest basketball programs are in attendance.
What is Peach Jam you ask?
Peach Jam is an annual event sponsored by Nike featuring some of the nations best recruits squaring off against each other in bracket play to determine a champion. The event offers college coaches an opportunity to see the top ranked college prospects play against equal competition.
The event, hosted by the North Augusta Parks and Recreation, will hold it’s championship game on July 20th. The game will be aired on ESPNU at 3 pm.
“Obviously, the more exposure you get, the better,” Rick Meyer, Director of North Augusta Parks and Rec said. “Wherever I go, when I’m wearing a Peach Jam shirt, people are stopping me, ‘Oh yeah, the Nike Peach Jam.’ The fever that’s out there for all these recruiting fans was humongous for football and now it’s making its way to basketball. There’s no price tag for exposure the entire area gets for that.”
According to a tweet by Derek Piper of future150.com Tom Izzo is in attendance scouting recruits to reload the Spartan backcourt.

Eric Davis is highly recruited and has received 14 scholarship offers for some of the NCAA biggest programs including Michigan State, Michigan and UConn.
According to a scouting report from ESPN insider Eric Davis is a combo guard with excellent scoring ability who plays in full attack mode. He needs to improve his strength and shot selection, both are things that can improve with the right coaching.
Tom Izzo hopes to provide that coaching once Davis suits up for the Michigan State Spartans.
