Believe it or not Detroit Lions training camp is upon us and Tuesday was the day the rookies reported to Allen Park in order to take conditioning tests.

The 2014 rookie class comes into Detroit Lions training camp with high expectations after the previous class produced at least 7 players who contributed last season.

This years class is not without some controversy. After drafting Tight End Eric Ebron in the first round, fans and pundits alike thought the Lions should have addressed their secondary in the first round. Instead they chose to give Stafford another weapon.

Although Eric Ebron will certainly be under enormous pressure to produce, he is not shying away from the pressure.

My goals are just to help us succeed. Everyone has their own individual goals but my personal goal is to not let Michigan down. You got picked first. You’re here. It’s about us in this facility (who) grind and go out there in this heat and work to be something great.”

It’s about being a team player,” he said. “Being here for guys and the team and just trying to help us succeed.”

Unfortunately Eric Ebron might be in a lose/lose situation. From the minute he was drafted Eric Ebron was compared to one of the most prolific offensive players in the NFL, Jimmy Graham.

Graham is a once in a generation player and if Lions fans expect that kind of performance from their rookie tight end, the expectations may be way to high for Ebron to meet. That could lead to a pressure filled season for the Lions first round pick. It could also lead to a very disappointing season for Lions fans.
