Detroit Lions Preseason Injury Report
On Saturday the Detroit Lions will take on the Cleveland Browns in the first preseason game of the year! The Lions approach the game relatively healthy but there are a couple of key players banged up going into the preseason slate.
Eric Ebron – day-to-day
The latest injury is a mystery as Eric Ebron missed the practice at Ford Field on Wednesday night. Ebron has an undisclosed injury and is considered day-to-day.
The injury doesn’t seem serious but his status for the preseason opener is still in question.
Ziggy Ansah – PUP List
Ziggy Ansah was placed in the PUP list prior to training camp and remains there as the preseason opener approaches. According to a report by Lions insider Mike O’Hara, Ansah was practicing a working independently but has not made enough progress to return to team practice.
That said Jim Caldwell does not seem concerned about extending the timeline for Ansah’s recovery.
“I’m not worried about him,” Caldwell said after Tuesday’s practice. “He’s progressing well. He’s working. They keep ramping up his activity. He hasn’t had setbacks. We feel good about where he is.”
Golden Tate – Active
Golden Tate was taken off the PUP list and is fully participating in practice. All indications are that Tate will see some reps on Saturday against the Browns.
Jason Jones – Active
Jason Jones missed last season for the Lions because of injury but is back and 100% healthy this season. Jones will get to knock off the cobwebs in Saturday’s preseason opener.
