2014 Western Michigan Broncos Football Schedule Preview Predictions

Prior to the 2013 season first year coach PJ Fleck had Bronco fans dreaming of MAC Championships and bowl bids. But those dreams were quickly deferred as the Broncos struggled to win one game last season while finishing 1-11.

Despite one of the worst seasons in recent school history, coach Fleck was able to pull off a recruiting miracle and landed the highest rated class of recruits in conference history.

The Broncos are hoping to get immediate contributions from that class of recruits this season in order to turn things around but it will take at least one more season before the Broncos are able to record another winning season.

Here is a look at the 2014 Western Michigan Broncos Football Schedule with predictions and a breakdown of key appointments.

Key Games and Opponents

Toughest Opponent-  September 27th at West Virginia

The Broncos visit West Virgina for a pay-day.  That is the only value this game will have to the program and has blow-out written all over it.

Potential Surprise – August 30th at Purdue

MAC teams have a habit of scaring the lower tier of Big Ten teams in non-conference play. It is possible the Broncos could the Boilermakers again on the opening weekend on the season but it is not likely to result in a win.

Upset Alert – October 4th  vs Toledo

Toledo visits Kalamazoo as a program in transisition. The Broncos could take advantage of the Rockets inexperienced offense and pull an upset at Waldo stadium.

Vs Rivals

The Western Michigan Broncos will avenge their overtime loss to the Eastern Michigan Eagles last season but will fall short against arch rival Central Michigan.  The Chippewas have too many weapons on offense for the Broncos defense to manage on the road.
