Last week Detroit Lions head coach Jim Caldwell told the media that he wasn’t worried about Ziggy Ansah extended recovery from off-season shoulder surgery.
Apparently he had good reason.
This evening the Detroit Lions activated Ziggy Ansah from the Physically Unable to Perform List (PUP) jus in time for Tuesday night practice. While on the PUP list Ziggy Ansah was unable to practice with the team but continued to work with trainers on the side.
Now that he is off the PUP list Ansah can resume normal camp activities. Even though he is back at practice don’t expect Ziggy to see any playing time against Oakland on Friday.
Caldwell said Ziggy Ansah won’t play in Oakland.

For Ziggy Ansah to miss the game against Oakland is not a big deal. What is a big deal is Ansah can now begin learning the new defensive schemes. A scheme defensive coordinator plans to make the Lions 2013 first round pick a big part of.
