Michigan State Spartans V Jacksonville State Preview, Start Time, TV

Finally college football season is here and Spartan fans get to see if their team has what it takes to repeat as Big Ten champions.  Their odds got a little better tlast week after the media favorite Ohio State Buckeyes suffered a key injury to their quarterback.

But before Sparty starts booking his plane flight to Pasadena they have to get past Jacksonville State.

This game is dangerous for the Spartans for a number of reasons.  It’s a classic trap game for the Michigan State.  They are opening the season at night on a Friday and against a strong FCS opponent in Jacksonville State who was recently ranked #8 in the FCS top 25. The Spartans will have to be careful not to overlook Jacksonville considering next weeks opponent.

Dropping this game could mean devastation for the Spartans season.  Michigan State must travel to Eugene Oregon for a week 2 meeting with the Ducks. After that they must run the gauntlet known as the Big Ten.

In summary Jacksonville State has nothing to lose and the Spartans could lose everything with a loss.  A loss would certainly eliminate the Spartans from playoff consideration. Sure bet is that Spartan fans will feel better when this one is over.
