Dave Birkett, from the Detroit free press is reporting that running back Mikel Leshoure will not make the Lion’s final roster.

Leshoure, who was drafted in 2011 missed his entire rookie season due to a tore Achilles. In 2012 he was suspend for the first two games of the season. He then went on to finish with 798 yards and 9 touchdowns.

Last season Leshoure barely saw the field as Reggie Bush and Joique Bell took over the work load and became one of the best running back duos in the NFL.

Leaving Leshoure to only appear in only three games, carrying the ball just twice.

Leshoure found himself in a battle with Theo Riddick and George Winn.

Riddick, is expected to be the number three back. Winn’s fate is still to be determined but as for Leshore, his career with the Lions has came to a disappointing end.

Leshoure is only 24 years old, so he very easily could find himself in another uniform sometime soon.

However, with the release of Leshoure, Nick Fairley is the only player from the Lions 2011 draft class still on the roster.
