The results were not good for the DJC’s Staff and College and Football Picks. Each staff member turned in a losing week but their were a couple of bright spots.  Joel Greer nailed his upset and lock picks for the week pushing his record for locks to a perfect 3-0.

Tony Fischer and Zach Libby dd not fare well at all but that won’t stop the staff from trying to rebound this week.

This week offers some interesting selections.  The Wolverines have a key game against Utah and home while the Michigan State Spartans have a huge 45 point spread to cover against the Eastern Michigan Eagles.

The Detroit Lions have a key home contest against the Packers and the hook makes this game dangerous for our staff experts.

Staff Locks and Upsets Of The Week

Zach Libby

Upset of the Week  – Bowling Green +27  over Wisconsin

Arguably the most dominant Mid-American conference program this season, Bowling Green is looking to capture their second straight win over a Big Ten team, following a 45-42 victory on the road against Indiana. I’m not saying the Falcons will pull off another upset, but they can easily cover the spread against a Wisconsin team that’s coming off of a bye week.

Lock of the Week – Oregon -23.5 over Washington State

Oregon has beaten South Dakota by 49 points, beaten Michigan State by 19 points and beaten Wyoming by 34 points. I’m confident that the Ducks will waddle (pun) their way into Martin Stadium with a victory.

Upset of the Week Miami Ohio +28 over Cincinnati

The Bearcats beat up on Toledo last week but gave up 34 points in the process.  Miami Ohio will have a little confidence after playing Michigan close last week.  Cincinnati has a big game against Ohio State next week and will overlook the lowly Redhawks.  Miami won’t win but they will cover the spread.

Lock of the Week – Minnesota -10 over San Jose State

The Golden Gophers run the ball very well, especially at home.  San Jose State gave up a whopping 358 yards to Auburn.  Granted Minnesota isn’t Auburn but they will have no problem covering 10 points at home..
