Detroit Lions-Atlanta Falcons International Injury Report

On Sunday, October 26 the Detroit Lions will square off with the Atlanta Falcons across the pond at Wembley Stadium in London, England. The Lions injury report for their international match-up isn’t exactly my cup of tea, however.

Reason being, the list keeps growing.

Running back Reggie Bush is unlikely to play on Sunday and is officially listed as doubtful. This comes after Bush sat out practice on Thursday and Friday while nursing a sore ankle that failed to heal up over the week.

On the flipside, fellow running back Theo Riddick is expected to make his return. Riddick sat out in week seven with a lingering hamstring injury. He will join Joique Bell in the Detroit Lions backfield and is plenty capable of filling in for Bush adequately. In the Lions week six victory over the Minnesota Vikings, Riddick lead the team in receptions with five, good for 75 yards.

Right tackle LaAdrian Waddle is listed as questionable despite being a full participant in practice on Friday. If Waddle is currently recovering from a concussion. If he is unable to go, Cornelius Lucas or Garrett Reynolds will likely take his place.

More from Detroit Lions

Last weeks starting tight end Brandon Pettigrew may not be able to make a go of it this week. Pettigrew is listed as doubtful, joining fellow tight ends Joseph Fauria and rookie Eric Erbron on the sidelines this week. This leaves the newly acquired Kellen Davis and recent practice squad promotee, Jordan Thompson with first-team responsibilities.

Defensive end, and defensive captain for week eight, Ziggy Ansah is listed as probable with a toe injury.

That pretty much covers it for week eight, well, besides that one guy — Calvin Johnson.

Detroit Lions head coach, Jim Caldwell stated that Johnson will be a “true game time decision” on Sunday. Some people feel that Megatron may make his return this week.

Others, including myself, believe that he will continue to rest his ankle through the bye week.
