A three game losing streak, a loss to one of the hands down worst teams in the NBA. 13 games under .500 and still two and a half games back from the final playoff spot in the Eastern conference. Is is time to wonder if the Detroit Pistons have run out of gas? Is this team as good as they are going to get for this season?

To make matters worse for the Pistons, if you look at the rest of their games in the month of March they have 10 games on the road while only 5 of them are at home.

While professional sports seems like a dream job, and while yes it probably is, it also takes a toll on players bodies and travel is one of the harder things for athletes. Yes they do get to ride on nice plans and all that stuff, it is still a toll on your body.

So when the Detroit Pistons go on 10 road games this month, it will take a toll on their bodies which could take a toll on their play. This is a very important one if the team plans to play in the postseason. Stringing together a long list of losses could easily happen to this team. The Pistons take on a very difficult Western conference line up.

Teams such as the Golden State Warriors, Houston Rockets, Portland Trail Blazers and Memphis Grizzlies. Then to wrap up the month of March, the Pistons get to take on the hottest team in the East this season the Atlanta Hawks. So it seems that the team has an uphill battle against them. Coach Stan Van Gundy understand that this will be a battle for his team.

“We got six of seven on the road, and if we can get through that stretch and still be in the hunt, well, we have a chance”

This team has played far better basketball since December and now it seems like they are hitting a few bumps in the past few weeks of play.

A 121-115 overtime loss to the New York Knicks was one of their low marks on the season. This team that sometimes plays so well against some of the best teams in the league play so terribly against some of the worst teams. While yes you can have a few bad games here and there, you can’t have them at the rate that the Detroit Pistons are.

This month will be very important for the Detroit Pistons. They need to come out of this month with a winning record if they want to stay close to the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern conference. A string of losses and wins by teams in front of them only puts them further back and the chances of them making the playoffs seem more and more likely less to happen
