Week 1 of the 2015 NFL Season is in the books and so is the first week of fantasy football. Unless you are living under a rock or did the best you could to completely ignore any sports coverage last week, you probably have heard about the new fad taking over the fantasy world. Daily fantasy sports, or in the NFL’s case, weekly fantasy leagues are growing at an astronomical rate. The advertising and commercials all have the same sales pitch, sign up at our site, build the best team within the salary cap, and you win money.

Let me just tell you that the competition is tough and the amount of skill it takes to build that perfect lineup is harder than it seems. I will be writing a weekly column to try to help you “get in” on this new format and find the players that will provide you the most bang for your buck with the salary cap format.

Before I jump into my picks for this weekend’s games, let me first clarify a few things. Daily fantasy offers a variety of game types with something as simple as a head to head match up versus one other opponent all the way up to tournaments with over 100,000 players. These picks will be for tournaments meaning they aren’t necessarily the “safest” selections if you are playing in a head to head match up or 50/50.

*DISCLAIMER* – Salary cap numbers are based on Fanduel.com’s pricing for this week.

On to the picks!
