With free agency looming, much of the attention goes to big names and players headed towards big pay days. But while a handful of teams and players make big splashes each offseason, it is often the smaller moves that prove most valuable.

The Detroit Lions will have money to spend in free agency – even enough to make a big splash if they want. It wasn’t the habit of the previous front office to make big splashes in free agency and I don’t expect Bob Quinn to look to do so either.

He has talked about building the middle class of the roster and that will be accomplished by adding a group of mid-tier free agents rather than one big splash signing.

Here are five free agents who are flying under the radar with most fans for the Lions to consider.
