The Detroit Red Wings start a four-game road trip tonight against the Philadelphia Flyers. The Red Wings only lead the Flyers by three points.

The Detroit Red Wings face the Philadelphia Flyers tonight in what has become a huge game for both teams. The Flyers trail the Red Wings by three points for the last Wild Card spot in the East.

This game is definitely a big showdown as the Red Wings have a chance to do themselves a huge favor tonight. The Red Wings with a win could go up five points on the Flyers.

The Red Wings are coming off a tough loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs 1-0 on Sunday. This loss was tough because the Red Wings played very well but just couldn’t beat Jonathan Bernier and the Leafs have the worst record in the league.

The goal the Leafs scored was reviewed but ultimately was ruled a good goal. Michael Grabner scored for the Leafs as the net came loose.

So after a tough loss, the Red Wings look to rebound and get a much needed win. The Flyers are a red hot 6-1-1 in their last eight games.

The Red Wings lost the previous meeting to the Flyers this year in a shootout 2-1 back in January. Petr Mrazek got the start that night but as of this writing it’s unclear if he gets the start tonight.
