The Detroit Red Wings look to extend their winning streak to three games as they face the Tampa Bay Lightning tonight in Tampa.

The Detroit Red Wings had a thrilling come from behind victory on Saturday night against the Florida Panthers 5-3. The Red Wings were down most of the game including 3-1 late in the 2nd period until Pavel Datsyuk scored.

That got the Red Wings within one and then in the third, the Red Wings scored three unanswered goals to clinch a 5-3 victory over the Atlantic leading Florida Panthers.

Petr Mrazek missed the game due to a sickness so Jimmy Howard got the start and once again played well. Mrazek is going to be the backup tonight as Howard will get his third straight start.

Also, the Red Wings actually scored not once but twice on the power play against the Panthers. I’ll give you a moment to re read that.

With how bad the Red Wings power play has been this season, it was good to see the power play striking a couple times for once.

The Philadelphia Flyers beat the New York Islanders last night so the Red Wings are only one point up on them with a chance to go up three points.

The Red Wings are also in range in the division race as they currently trail the Panthers by six points with ten games left. A win tonight against the Lightning would do wonders to help the Red Wings catch the Panthers.

Here is all the information for tonight’s game:

The Red Wings are currently four points back of the Lightning for second place in the Atlantic. A win in regulation would put the Red Wings even closer to the Lightning.

The Lightning have lost two of the three games they’ve played against the Red Wings. Can the Red Wings go three for four?
