The Detroit Red Wings got a much-needed win last night against the Minnesota Wild. Tonight they face the Toronto Maple Leafs in Toronto.

The Detroit Red Wings got a huge win last night against the Wild. The Red Wings needed this win badly especially with the Boston Bruins beating the St Louis Blues.

Dylan Larkin, Tomas Tatar and Riley Shehan scored for the Red Wings, Sheahan scored what turned out to be the winner. The Red Wings never trailed in the game and banked two huge points.  Jimmy Howard got the start and again played well.

Tonight, the Red Wings face a Toronto team that they need to beat. The Maple Leafs shutout the Red Wings last month 1-0 so the Red Wings are looking for some revenge tonight.

With a win the Red Wings will clinch the season series against the Leafs. The Leafs meanwhile are in a race for the worst record in the NHL.

With the struggles the Red Wings have had, believe it or not the Red Wings possibly could catch Tampa Bay for second in the Atlantic. I personally think third is more likely as the Red Wings will face the Bruins one more time this year but you never know.

First of all, the Red Wings have to beat the Maple Leafs tonight and get two points. As usual Jeff Blashill hasn’t named a starter as of this writing. My guess is Mrazek gets the start tonight as this is the backend of a back to back and Howard started last night. But I wouldn’t be surprised if Blashill gives Howard another start.

Here is all the information for tonight’s game:

A win tonight and a Flyers loss to Ottawa will put the Red Wings in great position for their playoff hopes. I think the Red Wings get a win tonight.
