The Detroit Red Wings look to even up their series tonight in game 4. The Red Wings got a big win on Sunday Night 2-0.

The Detroit Red Wings got a much needed win in Game 3. In front of a boisterous crowd at Joe Louis Arena, the Red Wings won 2-0 and Jeff Blashill finally made the right lineup changes.

After a scoreless first period, Andreas Athanasiou got the scoring started midway through the second on a beautiful sniper. Henrik Zetterberg extended the Red Wings lead in the last minutes of the second on a scramble in front of the Lightning crease. The goal though would be looked at and after TWO lengthy reviews the ruling was the goal was good.

The game ended in a skirmish for the second straight game as this is really starting to feel like a heated rivalry which the Red Wings haven’t had in a while.

Coach Blashill made some lineup changes and the big one is finally putting Brendan Smith in the lineup. If the Red Wings keep Smith and Petr Mrazek in the lineup, I have confidence that the Red Wings win this series.

The Red Wings shutdown Tyler Johnson and only allowed 16 shots on Mrazek. Mrazek while he wasn’t tested that much came up with a crucial stop on former Red Wing Valtteri Filppula late in the third to keep it 2-0.

There is no doubt that Petr Mrazek gets the start tonight, Mrazek also showed leadership as he held back Brendan Smith after Smith was taken down late in the third. Game 3 should’ve also shown that Blashill needs to have Brendan Smith in the lineup more often.

The Red Wings need to play the same way they played on Sunday. If they play that way for the rest of the series then the Red Wings will win this series. It will be another physical game tonight as game three ended with Brian Boyle mocking Justin Abdelkader for not fighting.

I think the Red Wings even this series out tonight. Do you guys have a prediction for today’s game? Leave a comment below or check in with us on facebook or twitter.
