The past week in Major League Baseball has given us some major movement in these rankings. There hasn’t been a ton of movement near the bottom of the league or at the top, but the middle of the pack has been shuffled all over the place. As the Chicago Cubs have been the clear-cut number one, the rest of the teams in the top 10 could easily be trading places here over the next month as some teams have gotten hot.

The Detroit Tigers have continued a bad habit of following good week’s with really bad weeks. The fact that their roster is as talented as it is and they can’t crack the top 15 in baseball tells us what we need to know. There are problems with this team and its more than just a shaky starting rotation and leaky bullpen. We may start to see some shake up happening among their starting pitching over the next couple of weeks as Anibal Sanchez and Mike Pelfrey shouldn’t be starting games right now.

Around the league we have a few teams really rolling right now as the Mariners, Royals and Giants all made good gains the past week. The Braves and Twins continue to hold onto the bottom two spots while the Cubs are going to be hard to displace.
