The Detroit Tigers have been excellent in games not against the Cleveland Indians recently, but is that enough to mortgage the future at the trading deadline once again?

We’ll just get this out of the way right here and now. It pains me as much to write it as much as it will you to read it, but the Detroit Tigers are NOT 2016 World Series contenders.

The Tigers certainly have been fun to watch in recent weeks when playing teams not named the Cleveland Indians. There were walk-offs, unbelievable comebacks, and just a lot of fun baseball being played during the month of June.

They have done what they need to do against the bad teams, but are losing pretty pathetically against many of the good teams, including the top two teams in their own division.

That puts them in an awkward spot with the trade deadline fast approaching.
