With the Detroit Lions set to take on the Tennessee Titans in week 2 of the 2016 NFL Season, here is all the important info you need for today’s game.

Starting the 2016 season with three road games in their first four, the Detroit Lions didn’t get any favors from the makers of the NFL schedule. A slow start was partly to blame for the early unraveling of the team last season so getting off to a better start is even more important after going through what the team went through a year ago.

After getting a win over the Colts in Indianapolis in week one, the Lions have a golden opportunity to get to 2-0 when they host the Tennessee Titans for their home opener in week two. Facing division road games at the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears in the weeks that follow, it’s not an opportunity to squander.

According to the Massey Ratings, the Lions have a win probability of 81% – the highest of any game this season. Losing to the Titans would not only be surprising, it would be unacceptable.

All the Lions offense needs is to keep doing what they were doing in week one. Their combination of running and passing led to balanced drives that Lions fans haven’t been used to seeing in recent years (or decades). On the other side of the ball it’s a different story. Too much open space was available in the middle of the field and Andrew Luck had all day to find the open receivers.

For the Lions to win comfortably at home against the Titans today, they will need to be more effective at getting in the quarterback’s face. Marcus Mariota may be a bright young quarterback but he can be prone to mistakes when facing pressure. It was the Vikings defense that led the way in their win over the Titans in week one. Let’s see if the Lions D can turn up the heat in front of the home crowd.
