The Detroit Red Wings look to extend their winning streak to four games. The San Jose Sharks make their last visit to the Joe.

The Detroit Red Wings are rolling. After a rough first two games and the fanbase getting frustrated, the Red Wings have all of a sudden won three straight games.

This was arguably the best game the Red Wings have played so far this year. After being scoreless after the first, four goals were scored in the second.

Justin Abdelkader got the scoring started just over five minutes into the second. The Nashville Predators would tie the score at one with about five minutes left in the second. Thirty seconds later the Predators would take the lead.

Drew Miller would tie the game with less then a minute to play in the period and the second period ended in a 2-2 tie.

Tomas Tatar and Gustav Nyquist would score to give the Red Wings a 4-2 lead halfway thru the third.

The Predators pulled to within one but thanks to the Predators self destructing in the last two minutes the Red Wings finished the game on the power play.

Darren Helm would put the game out of reach with a empty net power play goal with 22 seconds left.

A surprise in this game was that Dylan Larkin got into a fight. As delighted as the crowd and his teammates were, I think I speak for most fans that hope he never fights again. He’s to valuable to this team to risk an injury. Let Steve Ott, Jonathan Ericsson or Justin Abdelkader handle the fights. The Red Wings already have five fighting majors this season. They had eight all of last year.

Tonight, the Red Wings face the Western Conference champions, the San Jose Sharks. The Sharks are led by defenseman Brent Burns who not only leads them in points but also goals. Here is all the important information for tonight’s game:

More from Detroit Jock City

No starter has been announced yet as of this writing but I would guess that Jimmy Howard would get his second start.

Will the Red Wings win their fourth in a row? They definitely look better this week after a rough first two games.Have a prediction for today’s game? Leave a comment below or check in with us on facebook or twitter.
