The Detroit Red Wings face the Philadelphia Flyers for the second time in less than a week. The Red Wings hope to end a five game losing streak tonight.

The Detroit Red Wings are struggling. I tweeted out that this team is the best 55 minute team in the NHL. How quickly things change; just two weeks ago the team was riding high on a six-game winning streak and now this team has lost five in a row.

During this five-game losing streak, where the Red Wings have only gotten one point, they haven’t played that badly. Unfortunately this team just can’t keep a lead. They lost a third period lead against the Flyers, the Winnipeg Jets and also lost a lead on Sunday to the Edmonton Oilers.

They have also given up goals in the last two minutes of periods in four of the last five games. The Red Wings called up Tyler Bertuzzi after Sunday’s game as they’re hoping he can add a spark to this team. Tyler is the nephew of former Red Wing Todd Bertuzzi.

Red Wing fans are going to love Tyler Bertuzzi. He is a pesky player who has a scoring touch so I’m excited to see him play tomorrow.

As I said in the last gameday preview against the Flyers, the Red Wings haven’t won a regular season game in Philadelphia since January of 1997. They came close last week but they blew a third period lead, I know shocking right. Also, Darren Helm for some reason didn’t shoot the puck in overtime when he had a glorious chance.

Here is all the important information for tonight’s game:

As of this writing the Red Wings haven’t announced a starter but I think Jimmy Howard gets his second start in a row.
