The Michigan State Spartans continue their Big Ten schedule on Saturday against the Penn State Nittany Lions at the Palestra in Philadelphia.

The Michigan State Spartans (11-5, 3-0) will look to continue their undefeated start in the Big Ten when they face the Penn State Nittany Lions (9-7, 1-2) at the Palestra in Philadelphia on Saturday.

The Nittany Lions come into Saturday’s game at 9-7 overall and 1-2 in the Big Ten, having defeated Rutgers on New Year’s Day and lost to both Northwestern and Michigan. They lost both of their games against top-25 opponents in November to then-#1 Duke and #24 Cincinnati.

Although Penn State’s offense ranks near the bottom in the Big Ten, four Nittany Lions average scoring in double-digits, led by Shep Garner, who averages 13.1 per game. Mike Watkins is the team’s leading rebounder with 8.4 boards per game and he also averages nearly ten points.

The Spartans finally welcomed back Miles Bridges on Wednesday in their rout over Rutgers, and Bridges celebrated his return by getting above the rim for an alley-oop on his first play of the game. While his minutes were limited, head coach Tom Izzo confirmed after the game that Bridges is healthy.

Freshman Nick Ward continues to step up, now as a starter, and leads the team in rebounding. Senior Eron Harris was back in the starting lineup on Wednesday and led Michigan State in scoring in the win.
