Detroit Lions kicker Matt Prater topped Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker with a 76-yard field goal at Pro Bowl practice in Orlando.

Detroit Lions kicker Matt Prater uploaded a video in Twitter early Saturday morning of him making a 76-yard field goal at Pro Bowl practice in Orlando.

Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker, who will represent the AFC in Sunday’s Pro Bowl, made a 75-yard field goal on Wednesday. Prater began the video by acknowledging Tucker’s kick and saying “this is 76, gonna try to one-up you,” before sneaking the kick above the crossbar.

Prater holds the record for the longest field goal in a regular season NFL game, a successful 64-yard attempt as a member of the Denver Broncos at Sports Authority Field at Mile High on December 8, 2013. He was named as a 2017 Pro Bowl alternate and will play in the game as the NFC’s original nominee, Matt Bryant, will participate in the Super Bowl with the Atlanta Falcons a week from Sunday.

More from Detroit Jock City

Prater made 33 of 38 field goals in 2016, including all nine of his attempts from beyond 50 yards and four game-winning or tying field goals in the last two minutes of games. He also made 31 of 33 extra points. He was named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week three times during the regular season and was also named Detroit’s Special Teams Player of the Year by Detroit Jock City.

2016 was Prater’s third season with the Lions since signing as a free agent in 2014. He was originally signed by the Lions as an undrafted free agent in 2006 and backed up Jason Hanson during the preseason. He went on to have several successful seasons with the Denver Broncos, who released him in 2014 after he sat out four games for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy.

Prater is the only Detroit Lions participating in this year’s Pro Bowl. Matthew Stafford, Darius Slay and Sam Martin were all named as alternates. Stafford had an opportunity to play when both Matt Ryan (Super Bowl) and Aaron Rodgers (injury) were unavailable but passed due to the finger injury that plagued him at the end of the season.

This year’s Pro Bowl is in Orlando, Florida and returns to the familiar AFC vs. NFC format after three years of “unconferenced” fantasy teams captained by former players. The league also brought back a skills challenge this season, called the “Skills Showdown,” which included players playing dodgeball and catching footballs dropped from drones. The NFC won the Skills Showdown, 3-2.
