The Detroit Pistons will have a quiet night in the 2018 NBA Draft after their first round pick was conveyed to the Los Angeles Clippers for Blake Griffin.

With a changing of the guard going on with the Detroit Pistons in the front office and in the coaching seats, the NBA Draft should be a big night for the franchise as it shifts course. Unfortunately, the Pistons find themselves without even their own first round draft pick as a result of last season’s trade that brought Blake Griffin over from the Los Angeles Clippers.

That picks was top-three protected but the Pistons had a slim chance of jumping that far up the draft board in the lottery. When the expected happen, the pick officially went from the Pistons to the Clippers, leaving the Pistons with just a second round pick – 42nd overall – to work with in this draft.

It doesn’t figure to be an exciting night for the Pistons as a result. It’s possible they could use some cash to move up but they don’t have the flexibility with their roster or cap situation to do anything drastic. The best hope will be for a high-upside pick to not only be available but to pan out in the long run.

Here is all the information you need to following the 2018 NBA Draft tonight.
