Miles Bridges showed the kind of potential that East Lansing has been raving about in the Michigan State Spartans‘ 100-53 Friday night win over the visiting Delta Devils of Mississippi Valley State.

It took a little time for the Spartans offense to get going, neither team scoring until a Bridges basket with 16:29 left in the first half put the Spartans in front, but Michigan State never trailed and ended the half on a 22-4 run to take a 48-23 lead into the locker room. Bridges scored 21 points in the first half while Eron Harris contributed 11.

The Spartans kept rolling in the second half, steadily building their lead as the second half progressed. Michigan State made 10 of 15 three-point attempts in the half, including four of five by sophomore Matt McQuaid, while outrebounding the Delta Devils 26-10.

Head coach Tom Izzo emptied his bench as the game wound down and the Spartans reached 100 points for the first time since 2013 on a Greg Roy free throw in the final minute to put the finishing touches on a 100-53 victory.
