The Michigan State Spartans will seek a statement conference win on Sunday as they host the #16 Wisconsin Badgers on Senior Day.

The Michigan State Spartans (17-11, 9-6) will have an opportunity to pick up an important win on Sunday when they host the #16 Wisconsin Badgers (22-6, 11-4).

Wisconsin is a half-game behind Purdue in the Big Ten standings after losing three of their last four games after starting 10-1 in conference play and are currently a projected as a five-seed in Joe Lunardi’s Bracketology.

The Badgers are led in both scoring and rebounding by sophomore Ethan Happ, who averages 14.4 points and 8.9 rebounds per game. Bronson Koenig and Nigel Hayes average 13.8 and 13.4 points, respectively.

The Spartans are by no means a lock for the tournament but are in a decent position with after beating Nebraska 88-72 on Thursday in their first game without Eron Harris, who is out for the rest of the season with a knee injury. Michigan State’s freshmen stepped up in Harris’ absence, as Miles Bridges and Nick Ward scored 20 points each, Joshua Langford scored 17 and Cassius Winston had eight assists.
