Overview:

The Lions have had troubles finding a big receiver to compliment Calvin Johnson: Corey Fuller gives them that. At 6-foot-2, 204 lbs. and running a 4.43 forty-yard dash, he certainly fits the bill. He plays well in the air above defenders, and has the straight line speed to beat  defenders over the top.

Fuller originally enrolled at the University of Kansas for two years and was a member of the Jayhawks track and field team, according  to the Hokies team website. There he competed as a sprinter, triple jumper and long jumper. In 2010, he transferred to Virginia Tech, and didn’t play that entire season. Last year, he had 43 receptions for 815 yards and six touchdowns.

My Thoughts:

This is my favorite value/talent pick for the Lions. He has tremendous upside, and seemingly comes with no baggage — unlike some receivers of the past. He brings depth while learning the ropes behind Calvin Johnson. The learning curve for a receiver is steep, so don’t expect much early. However, this seems a great fit for both sides.
