The rosters for the 2013 MLB All-Star Game were announced and with many first time All-Stars on both rosters.  In the American League the Detroit Tigers led the way with 6 All-Star selections. In the National League the St. Louis Cardinals led teams with 5 players selected.

The American League leading vote getter was Baltimore Orioles first basemen Chris Davis. In fact Davis led the Major Leagues. The leading National League total belonged to Catcher Yadier Molina who became one of three catchers in major league history to be selected to three straight All-Star games.

L.A. Dodger outfield phenom Yasiel Puig was left off of the National League All-Star roster but fans will get a chance to vote him into the mid-summer classic with the National League final five voting. Joaquin Benoit is a candidate in the American League final five and if elected he will be the seventh Detroit Tiger selected to the 2013 MLB All-Star Game.
