Matthew Stafford, QB –
Although many point to his poor play as “just being preseason” (remember, individual play matters), Stafford has not shown any resemblance of the franchise quarterback the Lions thought they had thus far. He’s looked every bit the part of a quarterback who needs talent surrounding him, rather than a quarterback who lifts the talents of those on the field. His read progressions have been awful, many times relying on one read and immediately turning to his safety valve, many times Reggie Bush.
Though his mechanics have improved, he must find favorable matchups one every play, exploit them and, in turn, get the entire offense in sync.
