3rd Round -Dominic Turgeon
The Detroit Red Wings did not have a 2nd round pick in this years draft. Their third round selection was Dominic Turgeon a 6′ 1″ 196 lbs center from Canada. Dominic is the son of Pierre Turgeon who played with 6 NHL teams over 1,294 career NHL games. Dominic Turgeon is a scored with two-way ability.
According to NHL Central Scouting Turgeon improved his ranking over the season getting an up grade to 97 from his 130 mid-term mark.

"Turgeon, who prides himself on his two-way game, posted 31 points (10-21—31) and a plus-18 rating in 65 games with Portland in 2013-14. He added eight points (2-6—8) in the playoffs as the Winterhawks advanced to the Western Hockey League final for the fourth straight year, losing in seven games to the Memorial Cup champion Edmonton Oil Kings."
