2. Kellen Moore, QB

The Kellen Moore situation has been perhaps the most talked about regarding the Detroit Lions during this years preseason. Some people feel Moore should be the Lions No. 2 quarterback as Dan Orlovsky has seemingly lagged behind performance wise during the exhibition season, despite his NFL experience.

Moore is 18-for-23 for 189 yards and one touchdown without an interception in the preseason. His rating is 115.4.

Still Moore’s uncertain roster status became more intriguing last week when the NFL changed rules for practice squads. Moore now is eligible to serve on a practice squad this year. However, any other team could sign Moore if the Lions try to place him on the practice squad. (St. Louis Rams?)

Moore has been the No. 3 quarterback the past two years but not all teams keep three. The Lions have a new coaching staff this year and coach Caldwell may stick what he has done in years past, which is go through the regular season with only two quarterbacks.

Whatever happens to Moore could largely be based of off his performance on Thursday as he and Orlovsky will likely see all the snaps under center.
