The Detroit Lions return a great one-two punch in the back field for 2014 with Reggie Bush and Joique Bell. Bush is a razzle-dazzle, make em’ miss type of runner while Bell is more of a down hill, pound the ball type of back.

Two back systems have become common around the NFL, but few are as good as the combo in Detroit.

Under new offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi’s system, look for Bush to be utilized similar to the way he was in New Orleans, where he started his career. Lombardi should split Bush out in the slot and throw him some screen passes to get the most out of his break away speed.

Bell could see a majority of the Lions direct handoffs out of the backfield, especially in goal line situations.

Also on the Lions roster are Theo Riddick, Montel Owens, and Jed Collins. Riddick played some wide receiver at Notre Dame and could likely see some more of that this season.

Owens offers versatility, leadership and special teams prowess.

Collins is the first fullback the Lions have had on the roster since 2010.
