Fantasy Football Tips: Start These Three

Cordarrelle Patterson – Patterson is the real deal in Minnesota in 2014, forget Greg Jennings. Patterson is quick and will quickly take fantasy football by storm this year. During the exhibition season, Patterson was on the field for 90 of the first-team offenses 92 plays. Start him this week against the Rams, no matter who is the Viking signal caller.

Colin Kaepernick – Ive said it before, and I’ll say it again — Kaepernick is going to clean house against the Dallas Cowboys sketchy defense in week 1. The Boys were bottom of the barrel last season on D, and the team did little to upgrade. This is likely to help Kaep’s fantasy numbers too:

  • Julian Edelman – The New England Patriots have no defined No. 1 wide receiver. While Danny Amendola would be the ideal candidate for that role, his inability to stay healthy leaves little confidence that he will be the guy in 2014. I like Julian Edelman, and so does Mr. Brady.

Edelman was on the field for the Pats during 95 percent of the teams 74 exhibition snaps. That’s well ahead of Kenbrell Thompkins (74 percent), Amendola (59 percent) and Brandon LaFell (53 percent).

Furthermore, the last time Edelman visited Miami, he totaled 139 yards on 13 catches and a touchdown.

If you’re a member of a PPR league, and Edelman is on your roster, start him as your WR2.
