Fantasy Football Week 5: Top 5 Waiver Wire Must-Haves
Welcome back to Detroit Jock City for our fantasy football week 5 waiver wire must-haves. Many of you may have suffered tremendously in week 4, when teams like the Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos both had their bye weeks. If you didn’t take too big of a hit, consider yourself fortunate.

With more byes coming and injuries continuing to pile up, the waiver wire is going to be your best friend. There are plenty of steals out there, and I am going to help you find them.
Lets take a quick look at the top 5 steals off of the fantasy football week 5 waiver wire.
5. Jerick McKinnon RB (MIN) – Matt Asiata has had his ups and downs so far in 2014, but has found his way into the endzone more often recently. If he is available, he is a good option. If he is not, then his back up Jerick McKinnon is a guy with a lot of upside and potential who could prove his worth in the coming weeks.

While I tend not to put too much faith in rookies, the Vikings’ third-round draft pick was both elusive and explosive in Sunday’s victory and has likely earned more playing time.
4. Marvin Jones WR (CIN) – Marvin Jones was a guy with great potential prior to breaking his foot in training camp. Now with the NFL and fantasy football week 5 upon us, Jones is set to make his return to the field very soon. He is also coming off a season in which he snared 10 touchdown receptions and should be a Golden Tate type compliment to A.J. Green.

3. Owen Daniels TE (BAL) – Mark my words, Owen Daniels will have success this season. Daniels became the Ravens number one option at tight when Dennis Pitta dislocated his hip in week 3.
Steve Smith may be having a career year in Baltimore, but team are starting to double cover and shadow the 35-year-old wideout. Combine that with the fact that Torrey Smith and Jacoby Jones have been all but non-existent in 2014 and Joe Flacco‘s love for throwing it to his tight ends and you have a great option in Daniels.
2. Mike Vick QB (NYJ) – Geno Smith may have received his coaches’ vote of confidence, but the truth is that he is not getting the job done, and the fans in New York wont put up with it for much longer. The fact that Geno yelled an expletive deleted at the angry fans following the Jets loss to the Lions last Sunday further complicates things, now it appears that it is only a matter of time until we see Vick under center.

The question then becomes; can Vick hold on to the football? Pick him up and stash him if you have the room.
1. Larry Donnell TE (NYG) – Another New Yorker and another tight end make our list at No. 1. The Giants offense has made strides since their week 1 loss on Monday Night Football. Eli Manning has looked sharp, especially in the redzone and his new favorite target is none other than Donnell.
Donnell’s TD trifecta on Thursday night served notice that he is a legitimate weapon and should be starting on most fantasy football teams.
