Keys to the Game

For myself the key to the game is the Detroit Lions offense. The unit has played incredibly inconsistent all season long, looking great one minute, then struggling the next. In my opinion those ups and downs are the direct result of the pass protection on Stafford.

The Detroit Lions offensive line has allowed 17 sacks this season, second most in the NFL. On top of constantly having pressure in his face, Stafford is holding the ball for far too long. The line has to protect better, and Stafford has to make quick, decisive decisions on the field.

The Detroit Lions offensive ranks:

  • 18th in passer rating (89.3)
  • t-sixth in yards per attempt (7.9)
  • 20th in completion percentage (63.1 percent)
