Detroit Jock City Morning Drive:

College Football Playoff Edition

We are inching closer to the first ever college football playoff rankings put together by the selection committee.  It will be a first glimpse into how the selection committee views the resumes put together by the nation’s top teams.

Most pundits believe that the four teams will emerge from one of the power five conferences.  If that is the case someone should call Marshall.  The Thundering Herd has hired a PR firm to make the case for Marshall’s place in the playoff.

Meanwhile the major sports networks and odds makers are breaking down their predictions.

We have all those stories here and more on a special college football playoff edition of the Detroit Jock City Morning Drive.

From USA Today: PR Firm Hired To Make College Football Playoff Case For Marshall

"Conference USA has hired a public relations firm to help promote the conference and make Marshall’s case with respect to the first College Football Playoff. Brener Zwikel & Associates, which counts the Rose Bowl, Los Angeles Dodgers and Speedo as clients, sent out a release Thursday highlighting the Thundering Herd’s undefeated record, standing in the Amway Coaches Poll and their non-Power Five conference affiliation."

Here’s a look at five games, in order of date, that will be crucial in deciding which four teams end up in the Playoff."

From the Orlando Sentinal: Jimbo Fisher Anxious To See Playoff Criteria

"The committee, put in place to determine field of four teams to make the new college football playoff, releases its rankings 7:30 p.m. Tuesday on ESPN. Since this uncharted territory, Fisher is unsure of exactly how his No. 2 Seminoles and other teams will be evaluated."
