The week 11 college football playoff rankings have been released and it is good news, bad news for the Michigan State Spartans.
The good news is that the Spartans are still ranked 8th after being on bye last week. The bad news is that they were leap frogged by Kansas State who jumped from the ninth spot a week ago to seven in this weeks College Football Playoff rankings.

Fighting Gobbler
Big Movers
Arizona State gained 5 spots in the rankings after their 19-16 overtime win over Utah.
The Oregon Ducks got a bump into the top 4 after a convincing win over Stanford to improve their record to 8-1. The Ducks only loss is to #8 Michigan State.
Big Drop Off
Arizona’s loss to UCLA caused a 7 spot drop while Georgia got the biggest penalty with a 9 spot slide after their disappointing loss to Florida. East Carolina and Louisville dropped out of the College Football Playoff rankings after losses.
New Comers
Georgia Tech and Wisconsin were newcomers to this weeks rankings getting the 24th and 25th spots. Wisconsin becomes the fourth Big Ten team to be included in the College Football Playoff Rankings. Absent from the Top 25 is undefeated Marshall whose high-priced ad campaign seems to have little effect on the selection committee.
Key Games This Week
The week eleven college football playoff rankings set up a Big 12 showdown between #7 Kansas State and #6 TCU. The winner could move up into the top four while the loser will likely drop out of the top 10.
Alabama also faces a tough test against LSU while Oregon looks to stay in the top 4 with a win over #17 Utah.
