Fantasy Football: Top 5 Waiver Wire Targets For Week 12

Well folks, fantasy football has reached week 12 and were officially down to the nitty-gritty. The final two byes, (Pittsburg and Carolina) are this week and playoff season is just weeks away. That means now would be the appropriate time to cut ties with your WR4 or a second defense/special teams and pick up the handcuff to your workhorse running back, if he’s available.

It’s also time to eliminate a few guys from this weeks waiver wire targets.

Denver Broncos running back, C.J. Anderson has begun to make a name for himself in the NFL and is now owned in 82 percent of CBS Sports leagues and 41.7 percent of ESPN leagues.

Likewise, Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver, (and rookie) Jordan Matthews has slowly established himself as the No. 2 wideout in Philly. He has been on the field considerably more that his Eagles cohort, Riley Cooper and is obviously the better player. He is also owned now in 75 percent of fantasy football leagues.

With those things in mind, let’s get on to this weeks top five waiver wire targets.

Owners Beware: Were a bit running back happy this week.

5. Tre Mason, RB, St. Louis Rams

If running back Tre Mason is available in your league, pick him up now. Last week, Mason ended any and all deliberation on his roster status in St. Louis. Against one of the NFL’s toughest run defenses, the Denver Broncos, Mason rushed for 113 yards on 29 carries and added to catches through the air.

The Rams have some unfavorable match ups ahead, but Mason has played well enough as of late to still earn some consideration over the next few weeks.
