Welcome back to Detroit Jock City for our Fantasy Football Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em Week 12. All of our fantasy football advice this week resolves around one main thought — making the right choices.

As you’re likely well aware of, the playoffs are right around the corner. That means that it’s time to make some choices, not only with your starting line up, but with your bench as well.

As I mentioned in this weeks Waiver Wire Advice article, this week is the last week for byes, (Pittsburg and Carolina). That means that it’s time to part ways with your WR4 and WR5 and instead pick up your work horse running back’s handcuff. If you’re able to pull this off you provide yourself with a great insurance policy for the post season.

With those things in mind, lets take a look at our quarterbacks for Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em Week 12.

Jay Cutler (CHI) vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – With guys like Matt Forte, Brandon Marshall, and Alshon Jeffery surrounding him in the Windy City, Bears starting quarterback Jay Cutler entered the 2014 season with high expectations — at least in the fantasy football world.

It’s safe to say that things haven’t gone quite as good as we had all hoped.

Over the Bears last four games, Cutler has thrown at least one interception in each contest. There has also been a public riff between Cutler and Marshall. Despite Chicago’s recent struggles, Cutler is someone I would start with confidence this week.

The main reason behind this is because the Bears take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and their atrocious pass defense in week 12.

The Buccaneers are one of six teams that have allowed at least 20 passing touchdowns and one of six teams allowing three touchdowns or more per game.

Furthermore, Cutler has not thrown fewer than 30 passes in a game this year. When he has thrown 40 or more passes, he has also thrown for at least 330 yards, including last week.

Have a little faith, and give Cutler the start as your QB1 in week 12.
