Fantasy Football: Top 5 Waiver Wire Targets Week 13

1. Dan Herron – RB, Indianapolis Colts
Little known Indianapolis Colts running back Dan Herron received a prime opportunity to showcase his talents following a season ending injury to Ahmad Bradshaw. In week 12 I expected Herron and Trent Richardson to split carries, and honestly thought Richardson may make the most of the opportunity.
It would be Herron however who would ultimately seize the day.

Herron would end up with 17 touches to Richardson’s 13 and would out perform him too. He totaled 65 yards off 12 carries and also added in five receptions for 31 yards. Herron averaged 5.4 yards per carry, Richardson averaged 3.4 YPC.
Richardson should continue to handle short-yardage work, but Herron can clearly be a direct replacement for Bradshaw, which makes him start worthy if he continues to get 17 touches, especially in PPR leagues.
I expect Herron to flourish in one of the NFL’s top offenses.
