Number 2:

Nicklas Lidstrom

I questioned this spot a lot. I knew I had to put one of the great Detroit Red Wings players that I’ve been able to see play. I thought about putting Steve Yzerman but I only got to really see two to three years of his career. I even thought to put Henrik Zetterberg and Pavel Datsyuk, but they are still playing. Yet, if you people my age and about 10 years younger they will tell you their favorite player and best player in Red Wing hockey was Nicklas Lidstrom because that is who they grew up watching. Lidstrom played his entire career with the Red Wings and Wings fans should be thankful for him.
