Detroit Lions V Minnesota Vikings Start Time and Story Lines

The Detroit Lions host the Minnesota Vikings in what could be the final home game of the regular season and there are no shortage of story lines.

Me Casa Suh Casa?

Ndamukong Suh could also be playing in his final home game as a Lion and has dominated the discussion this week after saying his agent would be the one who chooses his uniform next season.  Suh made the comments during his weekly press session and assumed his usual abrupt posture when dealing with the Lions beat writers.  Could his latest comments setting the stage for his departure or are the latest comments just Suh being Suh?

Stafford’s Resurgance

Matthew Stafford has stepped up his game as of late and looks like a much better quarterback at home than on the road.  After going three games without throwing a touchdown pass, Stafford has made up for lost time during the current home stand by tossing 5 touchdown passes in the last 2 games.  Matthew Stafford will have to continue his recent track record of success against a Viking defense that ranks 6th against the pass.

Fully Loaded Offense

Last week represented the first time in about 6 weeks the Detroit Lions had all of their major offensive weapons on the field at one time.

Calvin Johnson has been on a tear during the Lions current home stand catching 17 passes for 301 yards and 3 touchdowns over the last 2 games.  Megatron is showing no signs of the ankle injury that kept hims sidelined for three games this season and could be a difference maker for the Detroit Lions down the stretch.

Reggie Bush also returned to the line-up last week but without the same success.  Bush accounted for just 34 yards on 12 touches against Tampa Bay leading some to wonder if the former Heisman Trophy winners best days are behind him.

The E Factor

The Detroit Lions 1st overall pick in the 2014 NFL draft has been a non-factor for much of the season.  But over the last four  games Eric Ebron has more involved in the offense and is showing flashes of the offensive weapon Martin Mayhew hoped he will become.  If Eric Ebron can continue to improve he could be an important part of a playoff run.  If not he may just become another 1 st round flop.
