Detroit Tigers Clinch 4th Consecutive AL Central Title

The Detroit Tigers won their 4th consecutive Central Division title and it took them until the very last game of the season to seal the deal.

Midway through the season the Tigers had a commanding 7.5 game lead. By the end of the year they were struggling to fend off a charge by the Kansas City Royals.

Instead of invigorating the Tigers, the division race seemed to suck the life out of Detroit and consequently led to their getting swept by Baltimore in the ALCS.

With all the excitement of winning the division and crushing disappointment of losing the ALCS, somehow the historic significance of the Tigers 4th division crown got lost. Until this last season the Detroit Tigers have never made it to the postseason 4 consecutive years. The next longest postseason streak started in 1907 and lasted for three years.

The Detroit Tigers franchise has never been as prolific as they are right now.  Can they continue that dominance in 2015?
