USA vs Finland

Finland won this tournament last year in Sweden. The year prior, The United States won gold in Russia. Finland took an early 1-0 lead on a goal by Mikko Rantanen which deflected off the skate of USA player Auston Matthews. Finland was out playing the U.S. until late into the first when Alex Tuch scored making the two even. The lack of being able to score on the power play really hurt The United States team. They had 5 chances after they tied the game up and went 0-5. The teams headed into overtime, which consisted of some great saves by both U.S. goalie Thatcher Demko and Finland goalie Villie Husso and just like the prior they went to a shootout. Goals by Jack Eichel and Chase de Leo 2-1 for the United States. If you couldn’t catch the game here are the highlights.
