Six Options For The Detroit Lions This Offseason
By Mike Payton
The NFL offseason is upon us. In fact, Free Agency is just 56 days away and the NFL Draft just 51 days later. While all eyes will be glued to the Ndamukong Suh story, there will also be some other decisions for the Detroit Lions to make. Now I’ve already showed you what moves I believe the Lions will make from the inside. Now its time to take a look at what options the Lions have on the outside. Whether it’s through Free Agency or the NFL Draft, there is plenty of fun to be had this offseason. Here are my six options:

JAMES CARPENTER
The Detroit Lions offensive line woes have been well documented this year. After allowing Matthew Stafford to get sacked 45 times this season, it’s a no brainer that the Lions will look to shore up this issue. Most have suggested San Francisco 49ers guard Mike Lupati. He is certainly a great option. But I suggest the Lions take the younger and more economical route and go with Carpenter.
Carpenter is 25 and has been a starter for the Seahawks the past season and a half. This year, as a full-time starter at guard he only allowed half a sack. Because I believe Rob Sims will be let go, Carpenter could be the perfect addition for the line.
