WALTER THURMOND
With Mathis aging and likely to be around for only another year or so, cornerback is the position the Detroit Lions need to fill. Thurmond has had a rough year. After playing only 2 games for the Giants this year, Thurmond missed the rest of the season with a torn pectoral muscle. Again, because of economic value the Lions should jump on Thurmond like a pack of dogs on a 3 legged cat. Thurmond being a former member of the Legion Of Boom can help bring that mentality to the Lions secondary. Assuming Teryl Austin stays, He can turn Thurmond into an even better corner at half the price of Antonio Cromartie.
