The Lions offense had trouble getting things going this year, and while Calvin Johnson and Golden Tate became the duo we hoped they would, the depth behind them struggled all season. Enter Cecil Shorts. Cecil will undoubtedly be leaving Jacksonville for greener pastures this off-season. Unfortunately for Cecil, I don’t believe that teams will look at him as a game changer. I’m betting that he will be a role player. At 27, Cecil will be looking to play for a winner.
Any receiver should look at the opportunity to play with Calvin Johnson and Golden Tate as a blessing. Cecil can take advantage of the coverage that Tate and Calvin get and get plenty of targets. This signing would be a game changer for the Detroit Lions.
